It might be hard to believe but Mother’s Day weekend is upon us! Fortunately, there are lots of things to do this weekend in Sarasota to celebrate all the moms in your life. You also still have some time to buy your mom something special, if you haven’t picked up a gift for her already.

Friday-Sunday, May 6th-8th: SRQ Blues & BBQ Festival
If your mom loves blues music, be sure to head over to the SRQ Blues & BBQ Festival this weekend. Starting on Friday and running through Sunday, this festival features a range of blues music as well as some classic barbecue you’re sure to enjoy!

Saturday, May 7th: Yoga with Butterflies
Share some quality time with mom by enjoying yoga with butterflies this Saturday. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., visit the Fruitville Grove Farm Market and check out a relaxing yoga class perfect for everyone no matter your fitness levels.

Saturday, May 7th: Amateur Sand Sculpture Competition
Why not enjoy a day on the beach with the whole family while checking out the annual Amateur Sand Sculpture Competition this weekend? This FREE, family-friendly event is sure to amaze you as you watch the sculptors work their magic in the sand.

Saturday-Sunday, May 7th-8th: 2nd Annual Spring Craft Fair
Do you still need to pick up something for your mom for Mother’s Day this year? Are you looking for things to do in downtown Sarasota? If the answer to either question is yes, head over to the annual Downtown Sarasota Spring Craft Fair this Saturday and Sunday. This FREE event features a wide range of jewelry, pottery, artwork, and other handmade items sure to please.

Saturday, May 7th: Kilted Kentucky Derby Party
The Kilted Kentucky Derby Party at Motorworks Brewing is an excellent event for horse lovers and racing enthusiasts everywhere. You can also enjoy a range of craft beers and other refreshments while watching the race. Visitors are also encouraged to wear kilts and show off your Scottish pride!

Saturday, May 7th: Mothers Day Brunch in the Vines
