Sarasota Weekend of April 29th to May 1st

Are you on the lookout for some great things to do this weekend in Sarasota? Spring is now officially in full swing, which means warmer weather throughout the state. In turn, there is no better time than now to get out of the house and enjoy this beautiful city!

Saturday, April 30th: Namaste at The Bay with Petra Ratner
There is no better way to usher in the weekend than with a bit of relaxing yoga and stretching. If you’re ready to relax or are curious about yoga asanas and breath work, check out Namaste at The Bay this Saturday. Starting at 9 a.m., you can join yoga instructor Petra Ratner for some relaxing exercises sure to get you grounded and feeling refreshed.

Saturday, April 30th: SUP & Run 5K
If you’re looking for both fitness and charitable Sarasota events in 2022, check out this weekend’s SUP & Run 5K. On Saturday at 8 a.m. you can head off to Nathan Benderson Park for this annual event, benefitting Operation Second Chance (OSC).

Saturday, April 30th: FST Improv Presents: Comedy Freestyle
Do you need some date night ideas for the weekend? If so, you’re in luck! There are lots of things to do in Sarasota at night, starting with Comedy Freestyle at the Florida Studio Theatre. Comedy Freestyle offers a great mashup of comedy styles in a casual improv show sure to please.

Saturday, April 30th: NBP Rec Day
There is never a shortage of things to do in Sarasota with kids, and this weekend is no exception. On Saturday, take the entire family to Nathan Benderson Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for NBP Rec Days. You can all try standup paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and lots more. There is even a chance to ride on a 15-foot sailboat with an experienced captain!
Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for children. Families with two adults and three or more children can buy a $40 group ticket. Saturday, April 30th: De Soto Grand Parade
There are even more great things to do this weekend in Sarasota with the family, including the De Soto Grand Parade. This parade includes over 200 conquistador members from the Hernando De Soto Historical Society, offering a colorful array of costumes and more!

Saturday, April 30th: 6th Anniversary Party at Calusa Brewing
If you’re in the mood to enjoy some cold brews and good food, check out the 6th anniversary party Calusa Brewing is throwing for itself this weekend! As the brew house works on their new taproom on McIntosh Road, they’re eager to celebrate what might be their last year on Derek Avenue.
You can join them in the fun this Saturday starting at 11 a.m. and take advantage of some great drink specials and other treats. There will also be live music by BABYL starting at 2 p.m., and food trucks will also be open so be sure to show up hungry! Sunday May 1st: Treat Yourself Like a Queen at UTC
Ladies, it’s time to treat yourself like a queen! This weekend you can do just that at University Town Center mall, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy over 40 exhibitors offering fashion, jewelry, makeup, and more. You can also check out makeup, hair, and nail demonstrations, raffles, giveaways, and great food and drink samplings.

Sunday, May 1st: Devereaux-Kaiser Collector Car Show
If you’re a car enthusiast, there are lots of upcoming events in Sarasota just for you! This Sunday, visit the Devereaux-Kaiser Collector Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can enjoy a wide range of classic cars, muscle cars, and collectibles.
