Sarasota Weekend of February 18th to 20th

Valentine’s Day might be over, but there are still plenty of upcoming events in Sarasota you can enjoy with the ones you love! This weekend you might check out a local home show, various arts and crafts festivals, or a great concert. Whatever your interests, there are lots of things to do this weekend.

Saturday-Sunday, February 19th-20th: Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival

If you love fishing, live music, and great seafood, you’ll want to check out the Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival this weekend, February 19th and 20th. This event is in nearby Cortez, just north of Sarasota and one of the state’s last working waterfronts. Cortez is even listed on the National Register of Historic Places!

While there, be sure to check out the Florida Maritime Museum and the Cortez Cultural Center, with lots of fun critters on display. There will also be some science lectures where you can learn more about what goes on underwater. Sunday, February 20th: Don Felder of the Eagles

If you love classic rock, don’t miss legendary singer-songwriter Don Felder, who spent some 27 years with everyone’s favorite band, The Eagles. Felder was there to record the band’s greatest hits album, which has sold over 38 million copies and is still going strong!

This great show will be held on Anna Maria Island and attendees should bring their own chair, umbrella, and other necessities. The Sandbar Restaurant on the island will have a cash bar, as no outside food or drinks are permitted. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. also, be sure to get your tickets in advance! Saturday-Sunday, February 19th-20th: 34th Annual Sarasota Festival of the Arts

There is no better way to spend your weekend that at an arts festival! The Annual Sarasota Festival of the Arts has grown so much over the years that it now covers some five city blocks. Additionally, this weekend you’ll find over 200 artists from all over the country. Take your time to browse handmade and unique jewelry, paintings, sculpture, photography, and more.

ALL WEEKEND: 24th Thunder by the Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival

Are you ready for some great motorcycle and music related upcoming events in Sarasota? If so, check out the 24th Thunder by the Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival this weekend, Friday through Sunday.
