Valentine’s Day Weekend of February 11th to 13th

Valentine’s Day weekend is upon us, and there are lots of upcoming events in Sarasota you might enjoy with a loved one. While the holiday isn’t technically until Monday, why not get a jumpstart on celebrating by planning something special for the weekend? You might include a stroll around the farmers market, join a 5K run, or even visit the circus!
When checking out this list of Valentine’s Day weekend events for 2022, be sure you call or otherwise check on availability before heading out. No doubt many other residents and visitors will be checking out the same attractions for their holiday plans, which might mean an increased risk of events selling out!
Some venues are also still limiting attendance and ticket sales, to encourage social distancing. A quick check before leaving the house ensures nothing will spoil your plans for this special weekend.
Friday-Monday, February 11th-14th: Valentine’s Weekend at Art Ovation
Check out the Art Ovation Hotel this weekend for a full four days of entertainment, fine dining, and romantic relaxation. Art Ovation is offering live music Friday through Monday, with salsa dancing in the lounge on Saturday. Throughout the rest of the weekend, you can enjoy a DJ spinning your favorite tunes.
On Sunday you might buy a ticket that allows you to sit poolside on the rooftop. Your admission also includes a 3-course gourmet meal and glass of wine. Friday-Monday, Runs Until March 6th: Sarasota Circus
It might be Valentine’s Day weekend, but if you need things to do in Sarasota with kids, check out the Sarasota Circus! This weekend and through March 6th, you can visit Nathan Benderson Park and enjoy classic circus acts. Check out their dog shows, acrobats, jugglers, horseback riders and trainers, and more.

Saturday, February 12th: Run Baby Run 5k
There is no better way to spend a romantic weekend than by getting in some exercise and supporting a great cause with your loved ones! This Saturday, head over to Payne Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a 5K fun run, supporting the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota. This run is open to participants of all fitness levels.
In addition to the run, you can visit various food trucks and other vendors that will be on hand. Drinks and snacks will be provided for each participant. Also, strollers are welcome but note that the terrain will be unpredictable. For everyone’s safety, it’s requested you also leave your pets at home. To find out more, visit the website:
Saturday, February 12th: Food Truck Rally at Big Top
There are always lots of food-related Sarasota events for 2022, and this weekend is no exception! On Saturday the 12th, you might check out the food truck rally at Big Top on Cattleman Road. This weekend’s lineup features Smokin Momma Loras BBQ Mobile, Food Vigilantes, the Groovy Grill Bus, Sweet Drips, Quiero Mas Tacos, and more.
The food trucks open at 3 p.m. so be sure to come hungry! You can also enjoy live music all day along with your good eats, with bands Ten-76 and Trigger Fish playing until 10 p.m. For more information including a map to the venue, visit:

Sunday, February 13th: Horseback Riding at Myakka
If you’re ready to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, why not try horseback riding? There is no better way to visit Florida’s scenic areas than horseback riding with a special someone!
This Saturday, consider joining others at the Big Slough Preserve for a few hours of riding fun. Experienced guides will take you through the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, where you can enjoy wildlife, lush foliage, and lots more.
Riding starts at 2 p.m. and should run from 2 to 3 hours. There are height and weight restrictions, and pets are not allowed this time around! Sunday, February 13th: Siesta Key Farmers Market
Spend a leisurely Sunday with your special someone at the Siesta Key Farmers Market this Sunday. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can browse organic fresh produce, lots of freshly prepared food items, and handmade crafts. The market also features tons of Valentine’s Day gift ideas you’re sure to love!

Sunday, February 13th: Jazz Brunch
If you and your special someone love jazz, you’ll want to check out The Bazaar at Apricot and Lime this Sunday. Hamlet’s Eatery is hosting this great brunch event, featuring Hot Club of SRQ, starting at 10 a.m. You’ll enjoy swing, big band, and other classic favorites.
