Friday, January 28th: Family Movie Night
If you’re searching for things to do in Sarasota with kids, check out Family Movie Night! This Friday the 28th, visit The Bay Sarasota for a FREE screening of Disney’s “Coco.” This fun-filled story follows aspiring musician Miguel as he explores his family’s roots.
The film is rated PG and starts at 6 p.m. Visitors should bring their own blankets, chairs, picnic supplies, and other items needed to enjoy this outdoor event. Saturday, January 29th: Car Show & Chili Cookoff
Throw back to the 1960s with this weekend’s car show and chili cookoff at Core SRQ. Saturday’s show will feature local car enthusiasts showing off their rides, as well as a chili cookoff between the Sarasota police and fire departments! The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to browse all the great vehicles sure to be on hand.
If you want to show off your own car, tickets are just $20. Your registration includes a ballot in the cookoff so you can decide who does chili best, the team in blue or red! Saturday-Sunday, January 29th-30th: Repticon
If you love reptiles, be sure to check out this weekend’s Repticon at the Robarts Arena in Sarasota. From 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. you can chat with other reptile enthusiasts, ask questions from the experts, and shop for a new pet as well!

Saturday, January 29th: Grand Opening of Vogue Society Boutique at UTC
If you love the Vogue Society Boutique, you’ll want to stop by the grand opening of their new location at University Town Center this weekend! Check out this fun and fashionable sip and shop event on Saturday, the 29th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be some great giveaways and sale items to shop, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Sunday, January 30th: Sarasota Orchestra On the Road
This weekend you can enjoy some fresh air and chamber music at The Bay’s Civic Green. The Sarasota Brass Quintet will be on hand to offer a full hour of your favorite tunes, outside the Municipal Auditorium.

Saturday-Sunday, January 29th-30th: 14th Annual Venice Craft Festival
If you love all things crafty, you’ll want to check out the Annual Craft Festival held in nearby Venice this weekend. This year’s show features jewelry, ceramics, glasswork, metal pieces, and more. You’re sure to find something you love and which will make a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day next month!
There will also be plenty of booths with specialty items you might browse, including fresh food, flowers, locally sourced honey, and more. Saturday, January 29th: Zumba at the Park
Keep up with your new year’s resolution of staying fit and active with Zumba at the Park this weekend. This hour-long class is sure to get you moving and keep your blood flowing, while you also enjoy a great view of the water and some fresh outdoor air.
