Sarasota Weekend of November 26th to 28th

Thanksgiving weekend has arrived, which means there are lots of upcoming events in Sarasota you can enjoy! Many of these events are sure to get you in the mood for Christmas, if you’re not already looking forward to a visit from jolly St. Nick.
Since autumn in Florida often means unpredictable weather, remember to dress everyone in layers for outdoor events. You can then add or remove a jacket or overshirt as needed, ensuring maximum comfort and so that nothing detracts from your enjoyment of whatever you’re doing. Roads are also sure to be a bit more crowded this weekend, so leave early when heading out to any of your planned Sarasota events in 2021.
Saturday, November 27th: UTC Fit
The University Town Center or UTC in Sarasota is hosting a FREE outdoor workout camp this Saturday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The class will be led by a certified instructor, with varying routines so you can follow along no matter your fitness levels.

Saturday, November 27th: Zumba at the Park
There’s no better way to fight off the holiday pounds than with Zumba at the Park! This Saturday you can head over to Nathan Benderson park and enjoy an outdoor Zumba class, sure to get the blood pumping and pounds melting away.
Class starts at 9:30 a.m. and is only $5 to attend. Please bring cash as the organizers don’t accept plastic! Participants should also bring their own mats, water, towels, and other accessories. Saturday, November 27th: Festive Caroling & Movie
If you’re searching for holiday-related things to do in Sarasota at night, check out the Festive Caroling & Movie event in nearby Lakewood Ranch. Held at Waterside Place and beginning at 6:00 p.m., you can enjoy music and caroling with Grace Community Church, as well as food and ice cream trucks to pick up some snacks.
At 6:45, there will be an outdoor showing of everyone’s family favorite film, “Home Alone.” Guests should be chairs, and dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short leash. Saturday, November 27th: Mistletoe Market!
This weekend marks the start of the Christmas shopping season, and there’s no better place to find everything on your list than the Mistletoe Market! The market includes handcrafted items from a variety of vendors, featuring antiques, repurposed products, vintage items, upcycled and recycled furniture pieces, and more.

Saturday, November 27th: Orban’s Annual Poinsettia Open House
You can’t get into the Christmas spirit without poinsettias! These stunning plants are a must-have for your home and office, offering beautiful pops of color right where they’re needed. Sunday, November 28th: Free Open Bachata Training
Get your blood flowing and heart pumping with a free bachata and salsa training class this Sunday, the 28th, at 4 p.m. This weekend’s class at Bayfront Park is hosted by Charly Groovin’ and is FREE to attend!

Sunday, November 28th: Santa Paws
There’s no reason your four-legged family members shouldn’t enjoy a visit with Santa this holiday season. This weekend you can bring your furry friend to visit Santa at The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Sunday, November 28th: Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market
Support local businesses and enjoy some healthy, homegrown food at this weekend’s farmers market in nearby Lakewood Ranch. The market features over 75 vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods including bread, honey, prepared foods, pet products, art, jewelry, and more.

Sunday, November 28th: Beer Yoga
Enjoy a cold beer and some yoga at the same time with Beer Yoga! This Sunday the 28th you can join Wild Orchid Wellness at the Big Top Brewing Company for a gentle, relaxing yoga session and a cold beer either during the class or right after. For those who want to enjoy their cold brew while stretching, the session will offer poses that allow you a few sips at the same time.
