Sarasota Weekend of October 1st to October 3rd

Residents and visitors alike are sure to appreciate the many upcoming events in Sarasota scheduled for this weekend! While it’s probably hard to believe that October is already upon us, the month brings with it cooler weather and lower humidity levels, making outdoor events more comfortable for everyone.
When choosing between the many great things to do this weekend in Sarasota, remember to bring masks for indoor events. It’s also still recommended that you practice social distancing even when outside, to keep you and your family safe. These simple precautions will ensure nothing detracts from enjoying any weekend events in 2021!
Friday, October 1st: SUP Yoga
Standup paddleboard or SUP Yoga is a great way to enjoy the open water and an easy yoga class as well. This class is held on Longboat Key, on your own paddleboard in the water!
Admission is $45, or $25 for students with their own boards. Arrive at 10:30 a.m. so you can get acquainted and check safety precautions before class begins. Saturday, October 2nd: Women’s March

Saturday, October 2nd: Warriors on the Water Food Truck Rally
Warriors on the Water Food Truck Rally is your chance to help raise money for local veterans while also enjoying some great food and family-friendly events! The rally will feature a variety of food trucks as well as lawn games, local vendors, raffles, live music, and much more.
The food truck rally is a great choice if you need things to do in Sarasota with the kids or just want to enjoy some local eats and treats with a special someone! Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd and 3rd: Downtown Sarasota Craft Fair
If you’re searching for things to do in downtown Sarasota and also want to support local artisans, check out the craft fair being held this weekend! Hosted by American Craft Endeavors, this year’s fair will feature a variety of pottery, artwork, jewelry, clothes, and more.
The fair will also feature a Green Market showcasing locally grown plants and flowers, as well as homemade soaps, spices, and kettle corn. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and is free to attend. Visit the Eventbrite page for more information:

Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd-3rd: Pumpkin Fest at Fruitville Grove (Runs through October 16th)
With Halloween right around the corner, it’s time to check out some local pumpkin patches and stock up on this year’s needed jack-o-lanterns! A pumpkin fest is also an excellent choice if you need more things to do in Sarasota with the kids, and this year’s event is sure to please.
Held at the Fruitville Grove Farm Market, you can stop by anytime from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday and find all the pumpkins you need for the season. Saturday, October 2nd: Sunrise Yoga
There is probably no better way to kick off the weekend than with sunrise yoga, which you can enjoy at the Sarasota Farmers Market this Saturday the 2nd, starting at 7 a.m. The class will feature gentle flow yoga, perfect for everyone no matter your fitness levels.

Saturday, October 2nd: Fall Festival
There are lots more things to do this weekend in Sarasota that let you support local businesses and individual vendors, including this year’s Fall Festival. This annual festival has grown so much over the years that the organizers actually needed to obtain a permit from the city to host it again, so you know you’re sure to find something you love at the event!
The Fall Festival is held at the Scavengers Marketplace in nearby Palmetto, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will be offering everything from vintage to shabby chic creations, and everything in between. Check out the Facebook events page for more information:

Saturday, October 2nd: 73 Degree Flea at Big Top Brewing
The 73 Degree Flea at Big Top Brewing is an excellent opportunity to support even more local vendors and artisans! The market will feature vendors showcasing handmade art, jewelry, and more. There will also be live music and food and brews from Big Top Brewing.

Sunday, October 3rd: National Taco Day Block Party
