Saturday, September 25th: Arts and Crafts and Antiques Fair

Held in nearby Bradenton, this weekend’s arts and crafts fair will offer a wide array of handmade arts and crafts as well as authentic sports memorabilia, artwork, and other antiques. The fair is hosted by Mixon Fruit Farms, so you’ll be able to enjoy some freshly squeezed juice and other foodstuffs while attending!

Saturday, September 25th: Venice Farmers Market

At the Venice City Hall this weekend, you can check out the Venice Farmers Market. At the market you’ll enjoy some fresh, homemade goods including giant pretzels and all sorts of breads and rolls. The market will also offer Florida mushrooms, kettle corn, roasted coffee, and cheeses.

Saturday, September 25th: Bazaar Book Fair

If you love to read and also want to support local authors, this weekend’s book fair is a great opportunity to pick up some new titles. The fair will feature at least a dozen authors with published books for sale, including everything from romance to science fiction and everything in between!

Saturday, September 25th: Music & Arts Festival

This Saturday, September 25th, you can enjoy some great local bands as well as browsing handmade work from local artisans at the Music & Arts Festival hosted by the Fabulous Arts Foundation. Saturday, September 25th: Umbrella House Tour

Sarasota’s famed Umbrella House was once called, “One of the five most remarkable houses of the mid-twentieth century,” by Architectural Digest. The house is the result of Lido Shores developer Philip Hiss hiring famed architect Paul Rudolph in 1953 to design what he hoped would be one of the most iconic houses in the country.

Sunday, September 26th: Talk Like a Pirate Day!

If you need some things to do in Sarasota with kids, check out the annual Talk Like a Pirate Day, held this Sunday the 26th at The Children’s Garden and Art Center. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will feature lots of pirate-themed activities, including a scavenger hunt and coloring table.
