Sarasota Weekend: September 10th-12th

The heat is finally letting up slightly in Florida, which means it’s time to plan to get outside and enjoy some upcoming events in Sarasota! There are many things to do this weekend both indoors and out, perfect for a great date night or the entire family.
As always, check ahead before walking out the door, as some events are still getting canceled unexpectedly due to COVID-19 precautions. Many businesses are also requiring masks for indoor gatherings so ensure you have one with you wherever you go! Friday, September 10th: Friday Night Concert Series
Held in Centennial Park in nearby Venice, the Friday Night Concert Series offers concerts under the stars. Concerts are free and open to the public but pre-registration is required, to ensure COVID-19 social distancing.

Saturday, September 11th: David Julia
This Saturday, you can enjoy the sounds of musician David Julia at Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen, starting at 7 p.m. Known for this quality blues and soul, David Julia has made quite a name for himself around the country, playing at various blues festivals including the International Blues Competition in Memphis four years in a row.

Now through Sunday, September 12th: EcoPerformance at The Ringling
EcoPerformance at The Ringling includes artist-driven performances, conversations, and hands-on events that center on the environment. Saturday, September 11th: Memorial Blood Drive
If you’re looking for things to do this weekend in Sarasota that allow you to help others, check out the Memorial Blood Drive at the Sarasota Farmers Market. SunCoast Blood Centers will be collecting blood donations from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Saturday, September 11th: Food Truck Rally
If you and your family can never agree on where and what to eat, check out this weekend’s food truck rally! Hosted by Big Top Brewing Company, a food truck rally means a great variety of food at affordable prices, so everyone in the family and all your friends can find something they’re sure to love.

Saturday, September 11th: Jukebox Saturday Night With the Swingaroos
Enjoy classic swing and jazz music this weekend at Jukebox Saturday Night With the Swingaroos, at the Florida Studio Theatre. The Swingaroos offer an eclectic mix of great dance favorites, sure to get your toes tapping, including “Get Your Kicks On Route 66,” “Heart and Soul,” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

Sunday, September 12th: Outdoor Recovery Yoga
After enjoying some of your Sarasota events in 2021, you might need some time to recover and rejuvenate. There is no better way to do that than by outdoor yoga! Pineapple Yoga and Cycling Center offers a 90-minute yoga routine, held outdoors due to COVID-19 precautions and to ensure participants enjoy maximum fresh air and sunshine while enjoying this great exercise.
