If you’re looking for more mature things to do in Sarasota at night, check out Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the off-Broadway production of the German rock and roller Hedwig Schmidt. This show offers a blend of standup comedy and musical numbers, backed by the rock band The Angry Inch.

If the kids need something to do this weekend and you need a few hours of alone time, check out Let’s Create Art, hosted by Creative Arts Studio. This fun class, held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday night, allows you to drop off the kids and let them enjoy a few hours of creativity and fun.

Friday, August 27th: Singles 80s Night

If you’re single and want to meet other singles while enjoying some fun, retro things to do this weekend in Sarasota, pull out your best acid washed jeans, feather your hair, and head down to the Singles 80s Night at Tea Days, this Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. You can enjoy karaoke, games, giveaways, and other fun in a great theme that is sure to bring back memories of the 80s and beyond.

For even more retro things to do this weekend in Sarasota, check out Lance’s Cruzin to the Hop Car Show, this Saturday the 28th starting at 9 a.m., at Sommers Dutch Family Restaurant in Sarasota. The show will feature a wide range of classic cars as well as 50s and 60s music, giveaways, live music, and more.

Sunday, August 29th: Brews and Blues

If you love blues music and cold brews, check out Brews and Blues at the Big Top Brewing Company this Sunday, August 29th. You can enjoy the music of RJ Howson and Mike Kach, two favorite blues players with a long roster of cover music you’re sure to love.

Saturday, August 28th: Zumba at the Park

There are lots of fitness-related Sarasota events in 2021, including Zumba at the Park, this Saturday the 28th. Zumba is a great way to get the blood flowing and burn some calories, and the outdoor setting for this class also means getting lots of fresh air while you follow the instructor!
