While Florida’s rainy season has finally arrived and isn’t going away anytime soon, there are still lots of great things to do this weekend in Sarasota! Saturday, July 10th: Indiglow at Marina Jack
The duo of Jennifer Jean and Alexandre Costa, known as Indiglow, offer an eclectic mix of music including classic pop and today’s best hits. The pair will be showcasing their talents at Marina Jack on Saturday the 10th, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 10th: GWN Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival
Boat racing is always more fun when done inside a colorful dragon canoe! This Saturday, you can join or just watch the annual GWN Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival at Nathan Benderson Park, starting at 8 a.m. and running until 5 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, July 10th and 11th: Sarasota Gun & Knife Show
If you need to stock up on some home defense or hunting tools, check out the Sarasota Gun & Knife Show, this Saturday and Sunday, July 10th and 11th at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. The show promises to provide a wealth of options for gun and knife enthusiasts of all varieties, so you can browse everything from hunting rifles to handguns and everything in between.

Saturday, July 10th: Classic Movies at the Opera House
The classic film “Westside Story” takes the story of Romeo and Juliet, two star-crossed lovers from families at war with one another, and sets their narrative in the 1950s. Tony and Maria, the film’s main characters, have family in the brawling rival street gangs The Jets and The Sharks. Will their love be enough to get them through the violence surrounding them?

Saturday, July 10th: BFFs on the Beach
If you need things to do in Sarasota with the kids this weekend, check out BFFs on the Beach, a fun and family-friendly painting class that’s perfect for just about all age groups! Presented by Painting With a Twist, this weekend’s event is a great way to learn a bit about painting techniques and tools while still enjoying a stress-free and relaxed atmosphere.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own drinks and refreshments but note that this Saturday’s event will be alcohol free, to ensure it’s fun and safe for participants of all ages. Sunday, July 11th: Sophie Tucker, the Last of the Red Hot Mamas!
If you love vaudeville and classic Broadway, you will no doubt love Sophie Tucker, the Last of the Red Hot Mamas! With a voice and personality that fill any stage, you can enjoy Sophie’s classic, entertaining style this Sunday the 11th at FST’s Gompertz Theatre.

Sunday, July 11th: Beer Yoga
If you need some fitness-related things to do this weekend in Sarasota but still want to keep things enjoyable and lighthearted, check out Beer Yoga Sundays at the Big Top Brewing Company. Your $10 admission price includes a full yoga class and one beer, with your beverage playfully incorporated into your poses. You can also have them hold your beer until after the class if you prefer!
