Weekend of June 11th through June 13th

The heat has arrived in Florida but that doesn’t mean you’re without some great upcoming events in Sarasota for the weekend! There is always lots to do in and around the city both indoors and out, so you can stay fit while enjoying the great outdoors or stay cool while taking in a show.

Check out this quick list of things to do this weekend in Sarasota and, as always, check ahead for any unexpected cancellations or in case of a full house. While mask requirements are also being dropped by most businesses, it’s still helpful to bring some for the family when going out, just in case they’re required.

Friday, June 11th: Ariella at the Blue Rooster

Singer Ariella offers a classic mix of blues, funk, jazz, and soul, as well as some modern updates to all these music styles! If you love the sound of Etta James or Adele, you’re sure to love Ariella, and you can check her Friday the 11th at the Blue Rooster in Sarasota.

Saturday and Sunday, June 12th and 13th: 19th Annual St. Armands Circle Craft Festival

If you love crafts, you’ll love the St. Armands Circle craft festival, scheduled for this weekend. The show features some 150 to 175 vendors offering everything from homemade jewelry, paintings, soaps and other personal care items, and much more. There are also lots of food vendors scheduled to be in attendance so you can fill up on something good while browsing the booths.

Saturday, June 12: Beat Street at Harts Landing

Beat Street offers a great blend of classic rock hits, sure to get the toes tapping and hearts pumping! You can catch the band this weekend at Harts Landing, where they’ll be playing on Saturday the 12th, starting at 7 p.m.

Harts Landing is a quaint dock located right on the water, offering everything you need for a great day of boating. The bait shop sells a variety of sandwiches, soda, and cold beer, to keep you hydrated while you enjoy the band! For more information, visit:

Saturday, June 12th: Sensory Saturday at MOTE

The MOTE Marine Library and Aquarium is opening its doors one hour early this Saturday, June 12th, exclusively for those with sensory disorders including autism, for a calmer experience they can enjoy. Sensory Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. and groups will be allowed in limited numbers at one time, to avoid crowding and congestion and ensure an enjoyable visit for everyone.

Sunday, June 13th: Pride Pet Parade

Your pets want to show their pride too! If you have a four-legged friend or two and want to show off some pride, join others for the Pride Pet Parade this Sunday, June 13th, at Bayfront Park.

Starting at 10 a.m., parade participants will circle around the park with their pets, all showing off their best pride ensembles and accessories. The best dressed even wins a prize! The parade is free to join and watch. For more information, visit their Facebook events page:

Saturday, June 12th: Big Gay Beach Party 4

If you’re looking for upcoming events in Sarasota to show your pride and support, you can join friends this weekend at the annual Big Gay Beach Party, held at Lido Beach in Sarasota. What began four years ago as a casual event on the beach has grown into an annual event with dozens and dozens of attendees.

Guests are encouraged to show off their best pride flags and accessories, and remember that there are no amenities at that end of the beach so be sure to bring your cooler with drinks and refreshments, sunscreen, and whatever else you need for a fun, safe day at the beach. Sunday, June 13th: Morning Yoga at the Nest

The Nest at Robinson’s Preserve is a stunning treehouse designed to offer panoramic views of nature, including the Gulf! If you’re looking for things to do this weekend in Sarasota to keep you fit and relaxed, this Sunday you can enjoy morning yoga inside The Nest while enjoying those great views.

Friday, June 11th through Sunday, June 13th: Annual Fire Charity Fishing Tournament

If you’re eager to get onto the water and drop in a line, why not raise some money for the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida at the same time? This annual event, created by a firefighter, allows you to enjoy a great weekend on the water both inshore and offshore, compete for various rewards, and raise money for a worthy cause.
