Sarasota Weekend of June 4th-6th

June has finally arrived, which means lots of summertime events and things to do this weekend in Sarasota! Local businesses are also easing up on COVID-19 related restrictions, with more museums and other attractions opening and others allowing for larger indoor gatherings. Friday, June 4th: Bri Rivera
Bri Rivera was born and raised in Puerto Rico and now makes Florida home, and offers a unique musical style that is all her own. Playing in a band since she was 15, Bri is a local favorite among music lovers of all ages.

Saturday, June 5th: Art Paint Bar
If you love to paint but aren’t quite sure how to bring your visions to life, it’s time to visit Art Paint Bar in Sarasota! Art Paint Bar offers classes that combine hosting and instructions for participants, so you can hone your skill with a brush under the watchful eye of a talented instructor.
This Saturday you can enjoy a two-hour event, from 5 to 7 p.m., and enjoy creating a masterpiece all your own. The studio is also open to the general public starting at 10 a.m., so you can even sell your work or browse other items for sale before class begins! Saturday, June 5th: ZUMBA in the Park
Check out this Zumba class at Nathan Benderson Park! There is a great view of the park and water with a group of wonderful people. Be sure to bring a friend, your children, or maybe your significant other! This is a high energy class in the great outdoors. $5 per person. Taking place on the ground floor of the finish tower. Saturday, June 5th: Cars and Coffee
If you’re looking for car-related things to do this weekend in Sarasota but would rather talk to other enthusiasts in a casual, laid-back atmosphere than see street racing, Cars and Coffee is for you! Hosted by Elite Motor Works, Cars and Coffee brings car lovers together in a relaxed setting, perfect for conversation and sharing what you love about cars and their accessories.

Saturday, June 5th: Sarasota Farmers Market
The Sarasota Farmers Market is an excellent spot for picking up farm fresh and locally grown produce, along with lots of homemade goodies and sweet treats! There is always a wide range of vendors on hand at the market, offering everything from fresh produce to handmade toys, pet treats, soaps, fishing gear, and even jewelry and artwork.
The market also offers plenty of refreshments for you to enjoy in person so there’s no need to leave early when lunchtime rolls around. The market is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free to attend, although you are encouraged to make a donation to their nonprofit. For more information, visit:

Saturday, June 5th: Intro to Clay
For even more great things to do in Sarasota with kids, check out the Intro to Clay wheel throwing class this Saturday, hosted by the Sarasota Clay Company. From 11 a.m. to noon, you can enjoy a hands-on class that includes the basics of starting with clay, including wheel throwing, shaping and forming, and joining clay pieces together.
The class is open for kids “from 6 to 100” so it’s an excellent event for everyone in the family! Children under 5 can have an adult assist for free. Tickets are just $15 per person. For more information, visit:
Sunday, June 6th: Dock Yoga
Is there any better way to enjoy yoga than outside, on a waterfront dock, with a stunning view of the Gulf of Mexico? If you’re looking for fitness-related things to do this weekend in Sarasota and want to enjoy some time outdoors, check out Dock Yoga, this Sunday the 6th, starting at 10 a.m. at Marina Jacks.

Sunday, June 6th: First Responders Riders Club
The First Responders Riders Club is a members-only group of very serious cycling enthusiasts, enjoying regular rides through the city and surrounding suburbs. If you love cycling and are looking for bike-related things to do this weekend in Sarasota, the club is allowing nonmembers this one-time chance to ride along with them!
Starting at 7 a.m. in the Sarasota Christian School parking lot, the group will take you one a 3 hour tour through some of the best bike riding routes in and around the city, with a halfway point stop at the Myakka City Grocer. Sunday, June 6th: Jazz Brunch With Hot Tonic
Hot Tonic is a favorite local band combining swing music with classic jazz and vintage Americana. This Sunday, you can enjoy a performance by the band along with brunch at The Bazaar, at Apricot & Lime, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
