Sarasota Weekend of March 26th to March 28th

March is coming to a close soon, which means it’s time to enjoy some upcoming events in Sarasota before the hot, humid weather of summertime arrives! There are lots of things to do this weekend in Sarasota, whether you need a fun date idea or need to keep everyone in the family entertained. This weekend’s list includes plenty of indoor and outdoor fun, in case the weather should change unexpectedly.
When making your list of Sarasota events in 2021, ensure you still bring masks for indoor activities and practice safe social distancing. These simple steps will help keep you and everyone safe, so you can relax and enjoy all these great upcoming events in Sarasota.
All Weekend: Sarasota County Fair
Of all the upcoming events in Sarasota, the county fair is one you cannot miss! Located on Ringling Blvd., the Sarasota County Fair operates this entire weekend, with a range of fun activities and shows for everyone in the family.
On Friday the gates are open from 2-11 p.m., and you can enjoy a magic show, steer auction, and a hypnosis show. Saturday the gates open at noon and the day includes a plant sale as well as another magic show and steer show. Sunday the gates also open at noon but close at 10 p.m., and be sure to get there in time to enjoy the 12:30 dog show!
There are armband specials this entire weekend; on Friday you can ride all the rides for $20 all day. On Saturday, a $20 band will get you on all the mechanical rides from noon to 5 p.m., or you can purchase an all-day armband for $25. Sunday also offers an all-day armband for $25.
Remember that those armband prices are in addition to your admission costs. This weekend, adults 13 and over are $10 at the gate or $8 online. Children ages 6- 12 are $6 at the gate or $4 online. Seniors ages 55 and up and military are both $5, while children 5 and under are free. Saturday, March 27th: Sarasota Farmers Market Appreciation Day!
The Sarasota Farmers Market Appreciation Day is an effort to recognize the many challenges faced by vendors at the market, who have had to forego participating this past year due to COVID-19 shutdowns. Saturday’s farmers market will be offering some special items for sale, including lots of market swag so you can show your appreciation and support for local growers as well!
Saturday offers a special presentation by the mayor at 10 a.m., and will also showcase design contest winners and recognition for those who have supported market vendors over the years. There will also be live music starting at 9 a.m. and going until noon, to make your shopping adventure more enjoyable than ever.

Saturday, March 27th: Finding Nemo Outdoor Film Screening
If you need some affordable things to do in Sarasota with the kids this weekend, check out this FREE outdoor film screening of Finding Nemo at Ken Thompson Park! The 7:30 screening will be outside, in the park, and organizers are asking that everyone bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on. Saturday, March 27th: Zumba Spring Party
If you need some things to do this weekend in Sarasota that will get you up and active after the last year’s long shutdown, check out the Zumba Spring Party at White Buffalo Saloon! Taking advantage of the large dance floor at the saloon, you can enjoy a socially distanced, 75-minute Zumba class that is sure to get you active and burn some calories.

Sunday March 28th: Yoga & Mimosas
There are more weekend events in 2021 designed to keep you fit and in good spirits despite the challenges we all faced in 2020! This Sunday, check out yoga and mimosas at Grove Restaurant in Lakewood Ranch.
Starting at 10 a.m., this gentle yoga class will guide you through a relaxing yet challenging routine, sure to stretch your muscles and help you focus. Admission is $20 for “the class and a glass,” but be sure to bring your own yoga mat, towel, and water. Walk-ins are welcome.

Sunday, March 28th: Kettle of Fish Perform
Kettle of Fish is a nationally known cover band, a favorite to open for many legendary performers including Eddie Money and Marshall Tucker. The band offers a range of music including blues, soul, funk, and classic rock, sure to please just about any music lover!
If you miss going to concerts and are looking for some musical upcoming events in Sarasota, check out Kettle of Fish as they perform at Stottlemyer’s Smokehouse, at 4 p.m. this Sunday. This 3-hour show is a sure crowd pleaser, and Stottlemyer’s Smokehouse offers some of the best barbecue in the area, so don’t worry about getting hungry as you listen to this amazing band. Sunday, March 28th: Easter Eggstravaganza!
This weekend kicks off Easter season and there’s no better way to get it started than with an Easter Eggstravaganza! Held at Trautwein’s Martial Arts Center on SR 72, this year’s event runs from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., and then again from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The event includes crafts you can take home, an Easter egg hunt, games for the kids, and much more. Your child can even get a picture with the Easter bunny! For some great things to do in Sarasota with the kids and entire family, don’t miss this one!
