Weekend of February 18th to 21st – So Much to See & Do in Sarasota!

There is always something to do in Sarasota no matter the time of year or weather! This weekend is no exception, as the city and its surrounding areas offer visitors and residents plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, whether you need some excitement for yourself, a special date, or the entire family.
As always, keep in mind COVID-19 precautions including wearing masks indoors and maintaining safe social distancing even when outside. Check ahead if the weather gets rough in case of last minute closures, and so that nothing interrupts your Sarasota weekend plans.
Feb. 16th -18th: St. Armand’s Circle Anniversary Party
If you’re not sure your weekend schedule quite yet, the Daiquiri Deck St. Armand’s Circle 10th anniversary party is being observed this entire weekend! The Daiquiri Deck St. Armand’s Circle location is on John Ringling Blvd. in Sarasota, and this weekend marks their 10th year in that spot.

Feb. 18th-21st: LECOM Suncoast Classic – Calling all golf lovers!
Before you can make it into the PGA Tour, you need to prove your golfing skills at competitions like the LECOM Suncoast Classic, held this weekend at the Lakewood National Golf Club. If you love watching skilled golfers show off their swing, you can watch 144 of them compete for their spot on the pro tour.

Feb. 18th-28th: All Shook Up Musical
If you love the classics or want to take your parents out for a special event this weekend, be sure to check out All Shook Up, an Elvis tribute show held at the Rise Above Performing Arts Center, from the 18th through the 28th. The show will feature a great selection of everyone’s favorites, including “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

Feb. 20th: 10th Annual Bridge a Life Superhero Run
The annual Bridge a Life Superhero Run features a 1-mile fun run, a 5K run, and a 10k run, all to benefit families in the community with various needs. The Bridge a Life charity provides financial assistance, meals, home repairs, and other services for local families and especially those with children, and their annual superhero run helps support those services throughout the year.
Whether you love dressing like a superhero, running marathons, or just helping your neighbors, this is an excellent opportunity for you. The event is always in need of participants, sponsors, and volunteers, so there is lots for you to do even from the sidelines! Feb. 19th-21st: Thunder By the Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival
If you love motorcycles, you must check out the Thunder By the Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival, happening this entire weekend on the Sarasota Fairgrounds. The festival includes a charity ride, burnout competitions, bike shows, and live music including an appearance by Molly Hatchet!

Feb. 20th: Learn to Fish
Successful fishing is sometimes a bit more difficult than people realize! If you’ve struggled to hook anything when out, or are interested in getting some pro tips, check out Learn to Fish Saturdays, hosted by the Lakewood Anglers Club.
Held at beautiful Lake Patton, Learn to Fish Saturdays gives you hands-on instruction for tying knots, casting, and much more. The event starts at 10 a.m. and typically runs a full hour, with plenty of time for practice. Feb. 20th: Venice Farmer’s Market
If you want to get outside and enjoy some fresh air while also stocking up on the best fruits and vegetables in the area, check out the Venice Farmer’s Market, held at Venice City Hall. As you would expect from a farmer’s market, you’ll find lots of locally grown produce as well as homemade baked goods, Florida-grown mushrooms, freshly caught seafood, specialty cheeses, handmade soaps, unique craft items, and much more!

Feb. 20th: Beertopia! at the Manatee Fair
Beertopia at the Manatee County Fair features a sampling of craft beers as well as unique liquors and menu options from local restaurants. You can also enjoy live music from Kettle of Fish as well as raffles and other giveaways and specials.

Feb. 20: Sarasota Cleanup – Help beautify our city!
If you’d like to give something back to the community this weekend, join the Sarasota Cleanup crew, Saturday the 20th from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The cleanup area is Osprey Avenue, Siesta Drive to Mound Road, and volunteers are encouraged to come and go as you please but are asked to check in with the organizers so everyone knows where to clean and what areas have been addressed already.

Feb. 20: Intro to Aerial Yoga
Aerial yoga uses long ribbons in your routine, helping you twist, lift, and bend in ways you never thought possible! If you’re looking to add a bit of a challenge to your yoga, check out this introduction to aerial yoga class, hosted by Circusoul Yoga on Saturday from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 21st: YAPPY HOUR – Dog event!
If you’re looking for something to do with your pup this weekend then look no further than MotorWorks Brewing Yappy Hour! The event is dog friendly with local pet vendors and proceeds benefitting pet rescues. There are drink specials for the humans and water and treats for the dogs. It’ll be from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday.
