January 23: Sarasota Farmer’s Market (FREE)

The Sarasota farmer’s market is one of the best things to do this weekend in Sarasota, especially if you’re looking to get healthy and support local businesses! The market features local Sarasota area vendors selling everything from farm-fresh produce to handmade artwork and jewelry.

January 23: Annual Venice Craft Festival (FREE)

If you love homemade and handmade crafts, the annual Venice craft festival is the place to be! This festival often sees well over 20,000 visitors and regularly hosts some 500 vendors, so you’re sure to find something for yourself and everyone on your shopping list. January 23-24: 2nd Annual Beer & Burger Festival

Held at the Mall at University Town Center, enjoy two full days of local grill masters serving up their best burgers and cold brews at this annual event. While there, you can vote on who served the best beer and creative burger, and see if participants can beat the Guinness World Record for largest flip cup competition! If you’re looking for some relaxing yet entertaining things to do in Sarasota with the kids, check out the weekly Siesta Key Drum Circle. This circle meets on Siesta Key beach and begins about an hour before sunset, featuring drums and drummers from all walks of life and musical varieties. In the circle you’re invited to dance, show off your hula hoop skills, join in the drumming with your own instrument, or just express yourself as you want without judgment. Through 24th: Manatee County Fair

The Manatee County Fair, located just 15 miles north of Sarasota, offers visitors lots to see and do every day.
